Our Decorative Lighthouses are unique in many ways. Each one is hand-crafted from old discarded white and red oak fence     posts that once  stood as supports for wire fencing that fenced off pasture land or farms. Some of these posts have been in the     ground for decades exposed to the elements. I was astounded to find that once the dull gray coating was removed, it revealed a     rich, beautifully  grained piece of wood complete with checks (cracks), nail holes, and discolorations caused by the rusting nails.     These imperfections add character to each Lighthouse that we make and makes each one a unique creation. We DO NOT stain     the Lighthouses. The NATURAL WOOD is sealed and a generous application of Carnuba Wax is applied to give them a lustrous     shine. THESE ARE NOT LAMPS. They are most aptly described as Wood Art.
